I got this great Russian Army Officer hat as a gift, and thought of this:
Age 3: We look at ourselves and see a Princess.
Age 6: We look in the mirror and see a Barbie doll. Age 10: We look at ourselves and see Cinderella.
Age 15: We look at ourselves and see an Ugly Sister. We say, ”
Mommy, I can’t go to school looking like this!”
Age 20: We look at ourselves and see too fat/too thin, too short/too
tall, too straight/too curly fix ourselves the best we can, and
decide we’re going out anyway.
Age 30: We look at ourselves and see too fat/too thin, too short/too
tall, too straight/too curly but decide we don’t have time to fix
It, so we go out anyway.
Age 40: We look at ourselves and see too fat/too thin, too short/too
tall, too straight/too curly but say…. at least, I am wearing a cool outfit and
go out anyway.
Age 50: We look at ourselves and say, “who cares” and go wherever we want to go.
Age 60: We look at ourselves and remind ourselves of all the people who
can’t even see themselves in the mirror anymore. We go out and conquer
the world
Age 70: We look at ourselves and see wisdom, laughter and ability…we go out and just enjoy being alive
Age 80: We stop bothering to look. We just put on a fantastic hat and go out
to have fun with the world!
Maybe we should all grab our hats while we can! #susankorwin
