Susan’s Sound Advice #1039

In one of my favorite movies, The Devil’s Advocate, John Milton, ( the devil), played by Al Pacino, states this: “Free will…It’s like butterfly wings: Once touched, they never get off the ground. No, I only set the stage. You pull your own strings. ” How many of us, when we commit an act that we know is dishonest or just plain wrong…. or, when we are with a person who tries to convince us todo something we know is wrong yet we agree to follow their lead, use the excuse “the devil made me do it”? No, the devil did not make you do anything. Unless someone is physically threatening you, it’s YOU and only YOU that has the power to make your own decisions. We all have made mistakes in our life. I have made many myself. But, I now take all responsibility for the bad choices I have made in the past. The devil didn’t make me do it. I did it! So, stop making excuses if you did something you are ashamed of. Excuses are the nails used to build the house of failure. #susankorwin
