Susan’s Sound Advice #1053

The other day, while having lunch in an affluent area of northern New Jersey, I witnessed behavior that disgusted me. Four women, who all seemed to have the same face due to the fact that they probably use the same plastic surgeon, were bashing the waitress’s appearance after she walked away. Phrases such as, “she needs a face lift”, “has she ever heard of Botox”, “how pathetic”…were just a few of the nasty comments delivered to each other causing them great entertainment. In all honesty, I had the same waitress, and she was confident and kind, beautiful where it counted. Maybe these catty, shallow women should realize that THEY are the pathetic ones who work tirelessly for a faceless, nameless BOSS of their self-worth. A boss that says that a wrinkle or two, or a sagging breast is something to be ashamed of. I am so tired of these “types”, and I ask that all of us never speak ill of another woman because of her appearance, her jowls, her neck, etc. Let’s stop perpetuating this nasty, unhealthy myth that women are worthless with their natural “flaws”. #susankorwin
