Susan’s Sound Advice #1069

Are you wealthy? Do you have a fancy car, a swanky home, famous friends? Sorry. I am not impressed. The people who impress me the most are the ones who genuinely care, the ones who really listen to what is going on in another person’s life and remember to ask how they are doing. I woke up this morning to a few texts and a few messages on FB asking how I was doing. This greatly touched me because these friends remembered something that I told them and, in spite of their own troubles, cared enough to take the time to reach out. During every moment of the day, we are either making the world a better place or doing just the opposite. Our actions spread out and become contagious, either positively infecting others or unleashing a plague of negativity, doubt and fear. We have the enormous power to either lift someone up or to bring them down. How we interact with others can be the catalyst that sets someone into an emotional tailspin or the spark that provides them with encouragement and HOPE for a better day. It really doesn’t take much. It could be an email or a pat on the back for encouragement. Or it can be a phone call to say “how are you doing”? It’s the small stuff that makes a person larger than life. Just my opinion! #susankorwin
