Since today is #throwbackthursday , I thought this would be apropos. We ALL love looking back to the days when we were younger and there’s nothing wrong with that. But, here’s what is not good: I have a client who is in his early 40’s yet you would think he is much older purely from his attitude. He says his best days were when he was a frat boy in college and everything since hasn’t measured up. When he talks about the past, he gets animated and you can see his eyes brighten. Here’s what I tell him: If you want to feel old, no matter what your age, convince yourself that your best days are in the past. Keep thinking that way, and you will rapidly lose any optimism and enthusiasm about the future. To maintain happiness in your life, you MUST create reasons to believe that these are the good old days and that your best days are ahead of you and not behind you. With this attitude and focus, you will be begin to see possibilities arise that you never imagined. #susankorwin
