I wasn’t going to post this, but I changed my mind. I received this yesterday from a very kind client. This was a sweet gesture that made my day because it is validation that what I do has a positive effect. Validation? What is it? It’s receiving feedback from others that what you do and what you say matters. It means you are heard, you are seen and you are thanked for your efforts with appreciation. Of course, first and foremost, we need to consistently give validation to ourselves for all our accomplishments big and small. But, it’s always nice to receive it from others too. So, what’s my point? Too often, the demands of our busy lives keep us from showing appreciation to those who deserve it. It is easy to think, They know I appreciate them, or I pay them so why should I have to say it”, but simply showing it means more than you know. It doesn’t have to be a gift basket or anything extraordinary. Words can be just as much as a gift. When was the last time you said “thank you, I appreciate and value you” to someone? If your answer is, “way too long”, then make today the day you do it! Again, I want to thank my client, who shall remain nameless here) for a gift that made my entire weekend! #susankorwin
