A few days ago, I wrote about coming together after the election, no matter who wins. Since we live in a democracy, we have been afforded the opportunity to exercise our civic responsibility and right to vote for the political candidates of our choice. And, in making that choice, no one should have to be subjected to judgmental and vicious verbal attacks because of their decision to vote for a political candidate who others oppose and feel would be the wrong man to elect to public office. I really hope that we will begin to remind ourselves on a daily basis what it means to be humane. Acting in a humane way is showing compassion, kindness and consideration towards others. You may not agree with the results, but that’s what the results are. Calling people stupid, moronic, shameful and worse, only perpetrates more hate, which is counter-productive to say the least. To quote from my book, “We all want peace. But many of us believe that peace can only come from our leaders, foundations and organizations that are larger than we are. The opposite is true. Peace starts with each individual. It is CRUCIAL that we each create peace in the small and large moments of our lives, and live it in our words and our actions”. We are all going to be fine…I promise! #susankorwin #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
