Susan’s Sound Advice #1221

Life is a “fickle pickle”. That’s just the way it is and the way it always will be. Not everything is going to go as we expect it to, and it’s easy to hide under the covers and shut everyone off when something discouraging or shocking happens to us. There’s nothing wrong with feeling sad and angry, and taking the time to feel our pain is necessary. But…after a while, we must put a period and move on. There are always blessings to count, and I will try to help you: 1. Did you open your eyes this morning? 2. Are you reading this on your computer or your smartphone? 3. Are you fairly healthy? 4. Do you have a friend or family member who is happy you are in their life? …. The list can go on and on, and each and every one of us can list at least five things that we are grateful for. Whatever fickleness your life shows you, just know that every disappointment, every challenge, every heartbreak and every obstacle is conspiring to make you a stronger and more compassionate human being. So, today and every day, if you face a setback…stand tall, hold your head and shoulders high, accept this new challenge (whatever it may be) with courage, and start counting! #susankorwin
