Some people think of karma as a spiritual scoreboard that keeps track of our every deed, both good and bad, neatly accounted for and dealt back to us over time. If this were true, then all of us would just give, give, give and then sit back and wait for karma to come calling with a heap of great stuff in return. It doesn’t happen exactly like that, but it is true that the actions we take in life tend to bounce back to us. It is so important to be kind and compassionate every day of your life. By doing good deeds, being charitable, etc, you are creating a pattern of positive events, which, in turn, fuels your own happiness. You may not always see the material benefit of your good deeds, and others may not always want or appreciate your offers, but remember that good karma is lurking in the background, acting as your shadow.
