Susan’s Sound Advice #1264

Depression can be lurking within anyone, even those we view as the luckiest people on earth (as evidenced by the many celebrity suicides in recent years). There was one day devoted to World Suicide Day, but with suicides on the rise over the past 20 years, today is a good day for us to revisit kindness, for ourselves and for those around us. Human beings can survive anything as long as they can see a light at the end of the tunnel. But depression is so insidious, that it’s impossible to see the end. It can feel as if one is locked in a cage with no key. These are not easy times. We must remember that self-care, in all its forms, is an act of love. There is no shame in asking for help. Let’s take care of ourselves and each other with no judgment attached….
