Susan’s Sound Advice #135

I’ve talked in the past about writing down your goals and setting a target date to reach each goal. I stated that often you will have to alter that date because life gets in the way and things often do not go according to your best laid plan. For instance, my goal was to have my book finished and published by January 2011. An unfortunate setback occurred, and instead of beating myself up and having a pity party, I re-set my target date to one a little bit further down the road. The worst thing you can do is stubbornly stick to an inflexible plan. This will create significant stress in your life. In this fast paced and constantly changing world, flexibility is one of the greatest skills you can cultivate. Always expect and plan for change. Learn to go with the flow.
