Susan’s Sound Advice #136

Have you ever pretended to be someone you weren’t just to fit in? Have you felt inadequate when you compared yourself to others? These feelings and actions are dangerous because we tend to do destructive things in order to feel “in”. We might become anorexic because we want to look like the airbrushed model on the cover of a magazine or smoke cigarettes in order to be “cool”. To be really happy, we must accept who we are and be the best version of OURSELVES. We must learn to be authentic. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Chuck Swindoll said it best, “Know who you are, Accept who you are, and Be who you are”! No one wants an imitation…they’d rather get the real thing!
