26 Mar Susan’s Sound Advice #163
As much as some would love you to believe, no one has a perfect life. In this age of Facebook and Twitter, depending on who you follow and what you read, you may think that everyone is successful and stress-free except you. Some would have you believe that they run a successful business with never-ending clients. Others would have you believe that they never have to diet to look the way they do. Realize that it’s very easy, especially on the internet, to inflate the truth with no consequences. No one wants to reveal the flaws and imperfections in their life. Some use Facebook to convince themselves that their fantasy is truth. So, the bottom line: Few will admit that their life isn’t perfect, so don’t look to others with envy. Concentrate on your own accomplishments. Look back at the past few months and give yourself credit for even the smallest achievements. Life is not about viewing photos and status updates from others and feeling jealous. It’s not reality. Live your authentic life, live your own truth, and don’t believe the hype!
