Susan’s Sound Advice #177

Our memories of past hurts and failures are extremely powerful, and each time a situation triggers a bad memory, we almost feel like we are re-living the experience all over again. When this happens, remind yourself that you survived whatever it was that hurt you and visualize this bad memory floating away like a bubble and then bursting in mid air. On the flip side, if you are worrying about future problems and thinking catastrophic thoughts, instead of thinking on the negative side, think of the “best case” scenario for a change. A great outcome is just as likely as a bad outcome!
