23 May Susan’s Sound Advice #201
Do you believe that your circumstances are not your fault? Even if there may be some degree of truth in this, blaming leaves you feeling powerless. Having a “victim mentality” steals the power you own and weakens you tremendously. Ultimately, you are the only person who has the ability to change your situation. When you begin to take responsibility, you feel better about yourself and more in control of your life. If you find yourself saying, ‘I can’t help it’; ‘It’s their fault’; ‘Things are just really hard for me’, then it’s time to change your self-talk to “it may be hard for me, but I will do everything in my power to change the situation”.
