Susan’s Sound Advice #217

I, like all of you, want to feel attractive and look attractive. There is nothing wrong with that. What IS wrong is when we look to outside standards of beauty for guidance such as airbrushed, perfect images on magazine covers and t. v. commercials. Somehow, we are of the opinion that the size of our breasts, the number of “six packs” on our abs, and the size of our lips is all we need to feel goodabout ourselves. This is truly a superficial representation of real attractiveness. Those of us with the lowest self-esteem buy into these “pitches” and end up with eating disorders, unnecessary plastic surgery, and other quick fix solutions to our feelings of unworthiness. Always remember…beauty comes from who you are on the inside, by how we treat others, how we carry ourselves, and our integrity. You can dress a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but it will still be a wolf. ©susankorwin
