Most of us don’t want to admit it, but we are on a constant mission to impress others. Whether it’s the kind of car we drive, the restaurants we frequent and the size of our house or boat, we think that is impressive to others. Some attention may be drawn to these things, but it won’t last for long. The reason is that most people with character realize that possessions are not as impressive as qualities. How many people do you know who own “impressive” possessions but have no real values? Now imagine a person who has great integrity, cares about others and can hold a conversation without the word “I” in it? Would they impress you and would it matter that they were not rich? So, when someone tries to impress you or you try to impress others with the possessions you own, why not realize that it’s who you are and how you live your life that really is impressive. ©susankorwin
