Very often, when we see others achieving more than we have achieved, or having more than we have, we get jealous and resentful. This reaction is only destructive and wastes the energy we could be using towards our own greatness. Use others’ success as inspiration instead of jealousy. Follow their examples and make note of what they have done to achieve their success. Here is a metaphor on this subject. If you put one crab in a bucket, it will eventually find a way to climb out. But, if you put a bunch of crabs in a bucket, none will ever escape because as soon as one crab reaches the top, the others reach up, grab onto it, and pull it back. Now, crabs don’t really think about why they are doing this, but it is a perfect metaphor for human behavior, because usually when someone sees another person getting ahead or reaching success, there is a tendency to pull them down. Let’s not be a crab…let’s support each other, be proud of each other, and be thankful instead of jealous!©susankorwin
