Susan’s Sound Advice #249

I was thinking yesterday about all the people I have met in the past few years since being on Facebook. Many, or should I say most of these friends I have never met in person. But, many I HAVE met in person and have enjoyed the experiences I have shared with them…parties, dinners, etc. It almost seems like a revolving door sometimes. People move on for whatever reason. That is ok. What I have learned is: People come and go. So be it! Everyone who comes into our life is there for a reason. Some cross our path for a very short time because they needed us for a life lesson. Others come into our life, even though we may be completely different, yet we maintain a lasting friendship. Still others enter our path at breakneck speed, disturbing our peace of mind and bringing negative and destructive energy. We then need to clear the path to regain our positive energy. Remember this: People come into our life for a purpose…some stay and some go. The true friends are the ones that know your faults and accept you. You bring out the best in each other. They are not “here today, gone tomorrow”. You can count on them and they can count on you. Don’t hold on to people if you are just an option in their life. Be grateful for what you had and move on. Everyone, even the negative influences, taught you a lesson. Don’t be sad, but be grateful for every person that has been a part of your life. They may have been there for a “season”, but they were there for a reason!!© 2011 Susan Korwin
