Susan’s Sound Advice #271

After the storm, many of us were faced with hiring services to clean and remove the wet, moldy remains from our homes and basements. A service I used came to me after and said that they would double the fee on the bill so that I can submit it to my insurance company and make a profit. I was appalled and told them that is considered insurance fraud and I would never do that. I expect people to behonest, and when they fail to do so, there are consequences. Even if we don’t realize it, people judge us by our actions. What I recommend is this: Act as if there’s a small t. v. camera on your shoulder at all times broadcasting all your words and actions. If what you do or say is not consistent with the image you want to present to the world, don’t do it! You may think it’s cool to lie and cheat, but you will never like yourself if you do. !© 2011 Susan Korwin
