27 Sep Susan’s Sound Advice #30
When we were children, we expected approval and
consent before we did something. Then, we needed validation to confirm
whether our behavior and actions were acceptable.
If we didn’t get that, we usually felt unsure of ourselves.
Many adults continue this pattern of needing approval, worrying about what everyone thinks of them, their actions, their looks, etc. The past is gone, and you don’t need anyone’s approval but your own. This is the most splendid achievement.
