As a child, I adored the movie “Wizard of Oz”. Now that I am an adult, I can see the many messages the movie was transmitting, one being that we have to go through tribulations to understand what we really want. Dorothy went “over the rainbow” and thought that her life would now be perfect. Along the Yellow Brick Road, she came across challenge after challenge, relying on others to help her get home. When Glinda, the Good Witch, told her” You’ve always had the power to go back to Kansas”, Dorothy understood that she had to learn that for herself. She grew up and realized that she had the strength to overcome obstacles. She also realized that you can’t run away from your problems. “If I ever go looking for my heart’s desire again, I won’t look any further than my own backyard because, if it isn’t there, I never really lost it to begin with. Is that right”?”
Glinda: “That’s all it is”!
