Susan’s Sound Advice #354

The other day I was in a building with a multi-level parking garage. As I entered, I realized that the first level was packed with cars. As I ascended to the next level, that too was packed. Instead of searching for that lone parking spot, I decided to climb all the way to the top level where, not surprisingly, I had every spot to myself. It got me thinking. This is a metaphor for life. Why climbto the top, which takes more effort, when you can just park at the bottom with everyone else? Yes, I had to walk a little further to get to the street, but it was great exercise! To create a life of accomplishment, and one of success, you have to ditch the laziness and embrace hard work. Athletes, actors, and musicians are all over the media. But what we don’t see are the thousands of hours of super-focused work these people have put in behind the scenes. So, from now on, instead of taking the easy route, look to add more effort into your life. This is how you grow, this is how you succeed, and this is what living is all about!
