I admit it. I tend to obsess just like everyone else. For instance, the other day, while putting on my makeup using a magnifying mirror, I noticed, what to me, seemed like a giant pimple erupting. I tried my best to cover it with a concealer but the stubborn red dot kept popping back up. I couldn’t get that slight imperfection out of my mind. I decided to shift my thinking then and there. In reality, who really was going to notice that I had a slight blemish? I was still me. How often do we spend our time focusing on the blemishes in our lives — those things that aren’t “perfect. ” How about when we focus on those people in our lives who aren’t “perfect”? How often do we get caught up in the flaws that we see? How often do we sabotage relationships because we do not look beyond “the blemishes”? Realize that we all have “blemishes”. There is no perfection. Acknowledge what is going right in your life…take your focus off the BLEMISHES. If you do this, you will find peace and happiness.
