Last night I attended a wonderful fashion show by Simone Sisa. What I love about Sisa, besides her talent, is the fact that she included numerous models, in all shapes, ages, and cultures. Each model, no matter if they were thin or not, walked out with their head held high, their confidence apparent to all of us. In my own experience, and dealing with clients, I have found that many beautiful women lack in self-confidence, while those who are not considered beautiful, abound in self-confidence. It’s as if they know that society doesn’t focus on anything but perfection, but they don’t care. They believe in themselves. How wonderful it is to believe in yourself, truly believe in your talent, or your goodness, or your abilities. I find it sad that women devalue themselves by repeated plastic surgeries in an attempt to be more beautiful, look more youthful, more perfect, and they don’t stop until they become caricatures of themselves. Today and everyday, repeat this affirmation and believe in your beauty, both inner AND outer. “I am beautiful. I am beautiful because I am who I am. I am beautiful because I am unique. I am beautiful because I’m not the supermodel you tell me I need to be. I am beautiful because I refuse to be someone other than myself. So I will stand up to this pressure. I will be myself. I will refuse to be anyone besides true to myself. I will look at myself and know that I am beautiful no matter what people tell me. I will look at myself and know that I am valuable, no matter what anyone else might think. ”
I am beautiful.
