Susan’s Sound Advice #362

Please take out a piece of paper and a pen and write the year you were born. Then put a dash and leave the rest blank because we don’t know what that date is. Now, the date on the left is one that we celebrate each year, but the one on the left is one we dread. We have no control over the date on the left, and we have no control over the date on the right, BUT, we DO have control over the “dash”. That is what represents your life. How are you spending your dash? Between your birth and death there will be storms, failures and fears. But there will also be great accomplishments and times of joy. How do you treat people? What will your eulogy sound like? Is it something you will be proud of? Remember, we only get one “dash”. Treat others with respect and wear a smile, because this dash in life will only last a while! (for further inspiration, Read “The Dash Poem”, by Linda Ellis).
