Susan’s Sound Advice #367

I used to be superstitious. I thought that if I felt thankful that everything was going well, this would automatically “jinx” the situation. So, I would suppress my feelings of gratitude and hide them somewhere deep inside. Of course, this was a foolish belief, and I was only starving myself of the wonderful feelings that ensue from being outwardly grateful and happy. Having gratitude does not bring bad luck. It actually opens the door for good luck to flow in! Now I am quick to say thank you for all the good that comes to me. Even the very small things! Yesterday I actually sat outside on my deck reading my book and listening to the birds sing!! All I kept saying was, “thank you for a beautiful warm day”! Make it a point every day to say “thank you for all the blessings in my life”. It is very difficult to be miserable and grateful at the same time.
