23 Oct Susan’s Sound Advice #370
I hold some character traits very close to my heart, and I look for those when I choose the people I want to be around. Personally, I strive to be the kind of person who not only “dresses up” but also “shows up”. I want to be the person that a friend feels comfortable calling at any time of the day if they have a crisis. I also want to be the kind of person who keeps my word and my commitments. There are some people I can truly count on in my life. They provide constant value for me and all I have to give them in return is the same loyalty and friendship that they show to me. I have befriended many, many people over the years; some have remained in my life and others only for a short time, based on circumstance. My feeling is that we are far better off with just a few “lifelong” friends that can be depended on than thousands of “Facebook friends” who choose opportunity over loyalty.
To all my friends who have “dressed up” and “showed up” for me, I value your weight in gold!
