Halloween brings back great memories! I grew up in an apartment building in Flushing, Queens, and how wonderful is was to run up and down the stairwell from floor to floor with my friends without even wearing a coat! The best part was coming back to my room and emptying my loot onto my bed…pure joy!! I made that candy last for months! The next memory was when my kids were little. Watching theirexcitement as they ran from house to house in anticipation of receiving that little goody, walking with the other moms while catching up on the latest gossip…. good old days!! Fond memories are a great source of pleasure. We need them in hard times to give us solace, and in good times to deepen our pleasure. They encourage us to explore life more while we are young, and they are our wise guides later in life. When we are young, we are making memories that we don’t realize. As we grow older, we take our time experiencing new pleasures and relishing the old ones. We all need to make, cherish and enjoy our memories…because memories are the black and white movie reel of our lives! Happy Halloween!!
