13 Nov Susan’s Sound Advice #387
Last evening, I was browsing FB and noticed a photo that a friend of mine was tagged in. In the comment stream, there was a rude comment made about this person’s appearance. I was stunned by the cruelty, but what stunned me more was the fact that the host of the photo did not delete that rude comment, but instead thought it funny enough to post a “haha” after it. . Making fun of others, laughing atthem, calling names – these are all the things that most of us were taught is just wrong. Yet, so many still take any opportunity to poke fun at others.
Scoffing at others is a sign of weakness. Instead of poking fun at others, why don’t these same people improve themselves? Mocking and poking fun at others only serves to create hate and pain. I don’t mean this post to be a lecture, but I can’t stress enough the importance of being kind to each other. Laughing at others is hurtful, and your words may seem funny to you and those who may be impressed with that kind of banter, but, it is really quite painful to those on the receiving end. Think before you hurt another human being. We are all on this planet together. Live to help others, not hurt them. We all have different styles…. Live and Let Live!
