Susan’s Sound Advice #402

I am sure we can all fill a page with things we are afraid of. Some of us fear flying, some are afraid of heights, some fear insects. The list can go on and on. For me, the thought of getting on a horse sent shivers down my spine. Would the horse decide I was unwanted cargo and throw me off? Would I slide off backwards? You see, that’s the thing about fear; it has a way of convincing us that any outcome will be a negative one. If we allow fear to take over our lives, we are not living. It doesn’t matter what stage you are in your life right now. It doesn’t matter how young or how old you are. At any point in time you can decide to challenge the “force of fear”. Would it be taking a risk? Perhaps. Anytime we take a step into the unknown we are taking a risk. That’s why it’s called the unknown. So what if the outcome is not perfect? At least you tried. And what if the unknown turns out to be more amazing than you could have ever imagined it to be? Just think what you would have missed if you allowed fear to stop you!
