There is one thing that really irks me and that is “empty” promises. Don’t get me wrong, words ARE important. Words spoken to another person can be beautiful, emotional and moving. They can evoke many emotions, but words are merely symbols of our thoughts, emotions, actions, things, places, and so on. Symbols do not act. When a person “gives their word”, there is an expectation. This expectation is met only when the actions are consistent with the words. Words have NO meaning unless they are backed up by sincere sentiment and consistent action. Just know that if you say to me that you will do something and don’t follow through, I will understand once, twice and maybe a third time. But, if this behavior continues…. strike 3…you’re out! As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say”! #emptypromises #donttellmeshowme #act
