Susan’s Sound Advice #452

When one is confronted with a wrong doing, or when people have misunderstandings, they often seek revenge on the person who they perceive has hurt them. Revenge comes in many forms, and it is usually all about anger that can’t be dealt with in a healthy manner. I learned a long time ago, that revenge is self-destructive. Confucius said , “Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves. “Gandhi seemed to agree with him when he said, “An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind. ” There are going to be people that break your trust…that is just a fact. Relationships sometimes end badly…that is just a fact. But, when someone hurts you, that is a statement about THEM, not about you. Your response is about YOU. When your emotions are toyed with, try to manage the urge for revenge. Let it go. Revenge only breeds more drama. Live your life, and let Karma take care of the rest.
