Susan’s Sound Advice #510

Yesterday I wrote about how blessed I was to have two men change the flat tire on my car. These are people that I would probably never get to meet or get to know during the course of my regular daily interactions. But, these two guys were SO interesting and so knowledgeable about so many things, and I truly enjoyed talking to them, and now consider them my friends. Life really is a collage of people who come in and out of our life for a reason. Everyone has something to offer and share. Here’s what I am trying to say: We really should treat every person we encounter, no matter how fleeting, as a story waiting to be told. The person on line in the bank, the person filling your gas tank, the cashier at the grocery, the server at the restaurant…. no matter who, what their age or how much money they earn…may have something to share with you that will leave you more enriched than before. I have had the most interesting conversations with the unlikeliest of people, and only because I took the first step. “Small talk” can turn into something huge when we make new “friends” along the way.
