Susan’s Sound Advice #526

Yesterday, while having dinner with a friend, we had a conversation about how people judge others based on their appearance, what car they drive, etc. This is human nature; we tend to put labels on what we see with our eyes, but we don’t know that person from the “inside out”. If you are well-dressed, you are going to be judged; if you are thin, you are going to be judged; if you are heavy, you are going to be judged. If someone sees you shopping at Target and not Bergdorf Goodman, you are going to be judged. In all honesty, it doesn’t matter what you do because either way, you are not going to please everyone. So…who cares what others think? Live your life as your authentic self. Seeking approval from strangers or anyone else is fruitless. My motto in my life has, and always will be, “I am who I am, some may approve, some may not, but I am happy and that is all that matters”. Stop trying to impress others…they really don’t care anyway!
