Did you know that you can judge the type of person a CEO is by the way they treat a waiter or waitress? So apropos since just the other evening, while dining out, I noticed a very well dressed woman tap her water glass with her fork to get the attention of the waiter. When he arrived, she very coldly demanded more water. Everyone deserves respect, whether it’s a waiter, a dishwasher or someone whosweeps the streets. Every single job is important and without these people, there would be a great void in society. Just because someone has more money does not entitle them to more respect. Respect should be earned by character traits such as compassion and kindness. Maybe one day that waiter will become your CEO. Maybe he will remember that you treated him with dignity.
