Susan’s Sound Advice #574

I think many of you will appreciate this story. The other day, while pulling into the parking lot of the neuro-chiropractor who I am seeing to help me heal, I noticed a car blocking an available spot right in front of the door. Now, mind you, I have an injured foot, so that spot would have been an ideal place for me to park. She was just standing parallel to the spot, obviously waiting for somebody to come out of the building. At first I put on my signal to indicate that I wanted to park there. No response. Then, I politely rolled down my window and asked if she could move her car so I would be able to park. I was stunned at her response: “You look physically fit…why don’t you park somewhere else!”. I couldn’t believe it! Obviously this person was having a bad day, but rudeness is NOT ok!! According to the dictionary, being rude is officially defined as “not having or showing concern or respect for the rights and feelings of other people”. This person was just plain nasty, and even when I got out of my car and smiled at her, she had a scowl as big as you can imagine. If you’ve ever been a victim of rudeness, you know that it has the power to ruin your day, put you in a terrible mood, and in extreme instances, destroy your faith in mankind. I would not let that person do that. I hobbled to the entrance and felt sorry for this miserable woman. Let’s all try to raise our game a little bit. We can’t continue to let our moods determine our manners. #extradailyinspiration #susankorwin #lifecoach #author #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
