Susan’s Sound Advice #58

Each minute is a brush stroke in the painting of your life. Can your life be a masterpiece? Absolutely. Will it
hang in the Met? Maybe not. Some of the
most beautiful artwork that I’ve ever seen has been
hanging in various art studios or on
the wall in some unknown gallery. To me, they’ve beentrue masterpieces–beautiful works that are full of great
detail and lots of character. I
always remind myself that my life probably isn’t one that is
going to be documented to the world and my upcoming book may
be seen by just a few when it’s finished one day. But that’s
okay with me. I want the brush strokes to mean something to
me, and something to the people I touch in life. Even
if my “masterpiece” hangs someplace that few people
ever visit, that’s fine. The joy is in the creation of
it. — with Margie Resto and David Buckbinder .
