Susan’s Sound Advice #592

Yesterday, the very last day of June, sucker-punched me with one last zing! I was truly ready to give up when, believe it or not, Mr. Rogers came into my head. When I was giving birth to my third son, because I watched a lot of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood with my two other sons, I remembered a song that he used to sing called “Be Brave and Then Be Strong”. Believe it or not, I sang that song throughmy entire 40 hours of contractions, and it helped me get through it! This man was a hero in my eyes. Always positive, always inspiring others, whether it be children or adults. What I am writing next are some of my thoughts taken from his wisdom. . There is no normal life that is free of pain. It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth. Confronting our feelings and giving them appropriate expression always takes strength, not weakness. It takes strength to acknowledge our anger, and sometimes more strength yet to curb the aggressive urges anger may bring and to channel them into nonviolent outlets. It takes strength to face our sadness and to grieve and to let our grief and our anger flow in tears when they need to. It takes strength to talk about our feelings and to reach out for help and comfort when we need it. Thank you dear Mr Rogers for continuing to keep me strong in tough times! #dailyinspiration #susankorwin #lifecoach #author #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
