Susan’s Sound Advice #618

When we try too hard to do something, it appears to slip further away from our reach. This applies to ridding ourselves of unwanted thoughts. The more you try to push them away, the longer they linger and the stronger they get. . When we welcome unwanted thoughts, they lose their significance and quickly diminish. By imposing a false sense of importance on a thought, it will often appear more serious than it deserves. It is difficult and it takes time, but if we allow a scary thought to appear and not react to it, we notice that the scary thoughts lose their impact, You don’t have to fight with them or try to get rid of them…. just say “come on over, I don’t care anymore”. Eventually the overwhelming thoughts loosen their grip on you. Don’t convince yourself that you can’t ever think a negative or scary thought. That would be virtually impossible. Just don’t be afraid of them. They cannot harm you as long as you realize that you have much more power than they do. They are just “inner bullies” and just like any bully, you have to stand tall and say, “I am not afraid of you!”. . #dailyinspiration #susankorwin #lifecoach #author #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
