The older I get, the less I listen to what people say and the more I look at what they do. It’s like when my kids were little. I used to threaten them with every punishment possible, but I never followed through so they eventually stopped taking me seriously. It’s the same with life; If someone consistently says they are going to do something and they don’t do it, I realize these people are disingenuous. We have to be consistent in word and deed. As Malcolm Gladwell wrote in Blink, When someone says, I love you, ‘ we look into that person’s eyes to judge his or her sincerity. That’s the first impression the moment before the blink. After that, we have to judge them by their actions. If they say, I love you, every morning and then insult you every evening, we soon learn we can’t trust them, and we shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking that we can. Be sincere because if you make promises that you don’t keep, if you say one thing and do another, you can’t be trusted. Happiness comes when what you say and what you do are in complete harmony. #dailyinspiration #susankorwin #lifecoach #author #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
