When I appeared on Good Morning Connecticut, I spoke about the importance of positivity and optimism, even while we go through life’s challenges. After my appearance, a few people felt the need to post their comments on ABC’s website. One said, “All she needs is her ruby slippers so she can click her heels and make everything alright”. Another said, “What is she smoking?”. You get the idea. Unfortunately, there will always be people who view those who are trying to see the best in a situation (optimism) as delusional and moronic. It is quite the opposite. People who stay positive and optimistic are resilient and some of the strongest people that exist. On the other hand, people who complain, constantly expect the worst, and put down those who choose optimism, are a sad bunch who don’t want to put in the effort it takes to better their lives. It’s not about ignoring the negative events in our lives. People who are positive still get sick, still lose their jobs, still get divorced, etc. But, they do what is not easy at all: They choose to see even a speck of positivity in their situation and they take ACTION toward a good outcome. A pessimistic, negative person will sit back and complain which requires no action. I don’t know about you, but I admire an optimist, and I choose to live my life that way. #dailyinspiration #susankorwin #lifecoach #author #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
