Susan’s Sound Advice #706

I am truly overwhelmed by the generosity of a man in China who has sent me a few dresses and gowns to show his appreciation for my help. Generosity makes our world a better place. It improves the life of the receiver and it improves the life of the giver. Yet, despite the benefits, generosity is still too rare in our world today. I have given many books away free of charge and have donated my services free of charge in many cases. I don’t always get anything back in return from these people, but the feeling of fulfillment is enough for me. Giving to others increases happiness and purpose in the life of the giver. I don’t think we are designed to be selfish…I think we were designed to help and care for others. Those who do, have already discovered that fact. Again, I want to thank this generous man ( I want to keep his name private) for renewing my faith that there are still wonderful people in our world!
