I didn’t win the lottery last night, but I feel like I did! It’s so nice to experience small acts of kindness in this world, especially in a big city like Manhattan. We parked our car in a garage and when we picked it up, the attendant (owner) told my husband that he is only charging him $10. 00 (usually would have been $35. 00) because he admires his taste in women! He seemed like the kind of guy that does nice things like this on a regular basis, and he made my day just knowing that there are people like this in the world. Random acts of kindness are quick, but they resonate for hours and days. Just giving up a seat on a train to someone who needs it, listening to someone vent about their problems, or holding the door, are actions that can change someone’s day. This man’s act of kindness cost him a little money, but most times, being a good and decent person doesn’t cost a thing. Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.
