Susan’s Sound Advice #726

We all know the expression, “don’t make a mountain out of a molehill”. So many times, we turn minor issues into a major issue, and we exaggerate things way out of proportion. Let’s face it: Life brings us daily problems. We may wake up and find a pimple on our face, and when we look in the magnifying mirror, that pimple looks like the scariest thing ever. We worry and obsess, and that pimple seemsto have taken over our entire face, even though it’s really tiny. That’s what making a mountain out of a molehill is about. We need to stop and ask ourselves if this is really as important as we are making it out to be. Will this really matter in a few years or even next week? Speaking from personal experience, I have made a lot of mountains out of molehills, and the tendency is still there. But now I focus on controlling my reactions from the outset so that my molehills stay small. So, don’t sweat the small stuff. Most of the things we worry about never happen,
