Susan’s Sound Advice #771

I loved my dad for many, many reasons, but the greatest gift he gave me was the constant reminder to value myself. There was not a day that went by when I turned into a “woman”, that he did not say, “don’t forget, they don’t buy the cow when they can get the milk for free”. It used to annoy the heck out of me, and I would always answer with a roll of the eyes and an “ok dad, I know!”. Listen, it really is true: Don’t lower your standards, don’t disrespect yourself, and most of all, never settle for being someone’s “other” when you have all the potential to be someone’s “only”. You have value. If you don’t place that value on yourself, no one else will.
