Susan’s Sound Advice #774

Today marks the third anniversary of the publication of my book. As I have said before, writing this book has been my greatest accomplishment in the second half of my life…the birth and raising of my three sons…. the first. If you would have told me 20 years ago that I would be an author, I would not have believed you. Yet, I am a firm believer that every one of us possesses special gifts andtalents to contribute to society. Sometimes the hardest part is figuring out what our gift is. Some of us discover it early in life, others find it later. In my case, the second half of my life is when I figured out my gifts and how to harness them to make a difference for others. What better way to go through life than waking up every day and doing what you love, while simultaneously making life easier for others! Writing my book was a long journey of ups and downs, and there were times I thought it would not happen. It was not easy, and many times I put it on the back burner. But, I knew this was what I had to do, and I didn’t give up. For any of you out there who are thinking of writing a book, starting a business, or pursuing any other “dream”, remember this: There are no short-cuts to success. So, be patient, stay focused, stay true to yourself, and be persistent. It will be worth it! Thank you to all of you who have supported me in this journey. #simplestridestowardpositi vechange
