Susan’s Sound Advice #775

I recently saw Idina Menzel on Broadway in “If/Then”. I remember thinking to myself how amazing it was that, even though she performs all these shows, her voice and range were perfect! To tell you the truth, even if she didn’t hit all her notes, she STILL would have been perfect in my opinion. To hear that she is being bashed for not hitting all her notes on New Year’s Eve through cold temperatures and the late hour, plus doing two shows that day, is mind-boggling. People who need to judge and criticize others have one thing in common: In order to feel good about themselves, they need to knock others down. They can’t see that everyone is special and no one is perfect. These negative vampires will attract other negative vampires who validate and agree with them, creating a “clique” that feeds off each other’s negativity and cruelty. That’s how they gain their power. Don’t be one of those people who enjoys hurting others. The scoffers, the mockers, the judgmental ones? They’ll always find someone to make fun of because that’s their hobby. But, please don’t follow their lead. Praise others instead of belittling them. And, if someone makes fun of you, remember that it’s always about them and not about you. #nobullying #idinamenzel
