Susan’s Sound Advice #882

There’s an old saying that if you don’t learn the language of gratitude, you’ll never be on speaking terms with happiness. And that is so true! I write in my book about the correlation between depression and gratitude. This is based on many studies that have found that the more grateful a person is, the less depressed they are. I will be the first to admit that life gives us plenty of reasons to be anxious and worried. But when we change the channel from that horror movie reel constantly playing in our mind and cultivate instead an attitude of gratitude, things don’t just look better, they actually get better. It really feels great to be thankful. It doesn’t have to be anything huge, but we ALL can find find something to smile about. This is not only a blessing for you, but it’s a blessing for the people around you too. Today, write down one thing you are grateful for, even if it’s just the fact that you woke up! Practice this every day, and eventually your mind will automatically look for the good instead of the bad……Happy Monday! #susankorwin
