Susan’s Sound Advice #90

The other day I was attending an event at a hair salon in the southern tip of New Jersey. I later found out that the topic of conversation among them was my hair and how they would love to get their hands on it and change it. At first, when I heard this, I naturally felt insulted. Then I stopped myself and realized this important lesson. Standing out and being unique can make it hard to fit in, especially if most of the people around you are pretty much the same as everybody else. You may get noticed, but not in a positive way . . a way that honors who you are and what makes you unique. When someone makes you feel less than you deserve, realize that you are not around people who “get you”. . people who value your uniqueness and the special qualities you have that set you apart and make you who you are.
